Melody’s journey takes her from Hong Kong to San Francisco and then back again to Hong Kong. The journey begins in Taishan; a small region in Guangdong Province known for the large number of immigrants to the United States during the 19th century. The film tells the story of one great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter's path to finding her roots. **ASK YOUR GENERAL GENEALOGY QUESTIONS informally after the presentation. |

MAY 2017 MEETING
METHODS TO PASS YOUR FAMILY HISTORY ON TO FAMILY AND FUTURE GENERATIONS
(A One-Day Workshop)
(A One-Day Workshop)
Last year, the Chinese Family History Group of Southern California presented:
Family Ties: From Past to Present, A Chinese American Genealogy Workshop, where we showed you how to research your Chinese Family History.
This year as a follow-up, we will present:
Family Ties: Sharing the Past with the Future - A Chinese American Genealogy Workshop
In this all day workshop, we will show you different ways to present, save and preserve your family history for future generations.
There will be parallel sessions, including translations, which will allow you to get one-to-one help.
Highlighting our workshop will be Felicia Lowe, our keynote speaker, showing her recent documentary: Chinese Couplets. Her film is very relevant to the interests of our group. Come and learn more about her research into her family history.
More details will follow as we firm up speakers and other logistics.
